We about that (event) life

My Brother and I VIP #ATLOasis #MoreBelve

Obvi this post is a little late in the day, because who didn't kill it at Sunday Funday yesterday? Whether you were sitting VIP with me at the ATL Oasis Luxury Pool Series at the W Downtown yesterday, chillin at the JEZEBEL cuisine and courts cook-off, or still nursing the aftereffects of the C. Wonder Founders Luncheon, Sole of the South was here, there and every where. Of course I have the dish (literally and metaphorically) for your need-to-know in the A. Let me first commence by filling you in on my Thursday night turned Friday morning oh-to-quickly.

The Cusp Revamp was a stellar success. With most of the modern luxury crew-and a few of my besties- in attendance, if you were absent for some reason- you need to make a stop by for your newest one-stop shop. Cusp (aka the contemperary section of Neimans)sells anything and everything from J Brand Jeans, to Tibi and Trina Turk to DVF.

With give-a-ways, to a DJ to wine and designer on a dime, the Cusp event was and department is a contemperary take on our already stylish sediments.

(Also- I am happy to announce that in the mix of everything- Jackson Ratcliffe has decided to collab with me as my marketing manager. We are a dynamic duo- ready to take the A and the South- by storm.)

After the event, we pretty much blew it out of the water and I will leave it at-we got home as the sun was almost rising, and had to be at work just a few hours later....

Saturday

Saturday I was one of a group of about 20 ladies invented to the C. Wonder's founding members luncheon at Horseradish Grill- across from Chastain.
AMAZING C. Wonder Swag

If you aren't fimiliar with C. Wonder- get to know it- and get ready for it to launch in the A sometime in August. Of course I know the exact date- but what fun would that be dishing the g (ossip) so soon. You all know how I love a tease.

The wonderful ladies (no pun intended) of C. Wonder- who came all the way from the Big Apple, along with ATL soon-to-be store manager Charles Wildes-hosted a fab luncheon in honor of Chris Burch (yes, Tory's ex) newest excursion.

So Many Good Goodies

C. Wonder will sell everything from handbags, clothing, housewares and knick knacks at a desirable price. Let me just say I'm so obsessed already that I'm debating online ordering my wish list- their selection is that seductive. Hopefully I can hold off long enough...but we all know I love to tease, but hate to be teased.

Sunday

My Crew #VIP

Sunday Funday, was just that...Sunday. Funday. Thanks to Jesse Mills of M- Consulting
and the wonderful ladies of Moment 4 Life PR- we had bottles on ice on the reg. If you weren't on the guest list for this one- I hope you make it on the next because the Atl Oasis Luxury Pool Series sets the standard for weekend shindigs.

Blocked off in the VIP section of the W downtown Wet Bar- the two Kushner children, along with Jackson Ratcliffe and Nat Brown of the Green Room Agency- killed it. Indulging in people watching, bottles of Rose and Belvedere-it was a date to be defied.

My boysssss. Shout Out to Scottie Hamption Shades- My brother and his friends are now obsessed. Check them out.

What a weekend Dolls. Thank goodness this week is a little bit more chill than last...or at least I hope. But you never know when something will pop up....take that as you wish. x0x0 to success and dollar signs this week.- JFK
Numbers don't lie. Thanks for reading dolls.

Feature Friday: Dave Ferguson-The Neiman Marcus Style Advisor

Neiman Marcus...the name says it all. Exclusive and luxurious- who doesn't just love a shopping spree there? Adding to the aloof of the A-town store is Dave Ferguson, style advisor. As only one of the seven stores selected to have this position- the ATL Neimans can proudly boast blue-blooded bliss. Hand-picked by NM Vice President and Fashion Director Ken Downing- Mr. Ferguson sets the standard in local and national fashion furors. Thank you so much for chit-chatting with Sole of the South!

Sole of the South: Where are you from and how would you describe your fashion style growing up?
DF: My Name is Dave Ferguson and I'm from Lynchburg, Virginia.  Growing up I was considered preppy-school boyish.  I wore button-down shirts and slacks 90% of the time.  I was refined and clean- cut.  I never wore tennis shoes until I was in college.

Sole of the South: What is your go-to item of clothing that you know works best for you?

DF: TIE. I think a tie says a lot about a man.  The tie sets the tone for the day and it completes my look.  It's like MY bow on a nice packaged gift!

Sole of the South: One word to describe your current fashion style.

DFMy style is very achetypal...meaning classic and traditional.

Sole of the South: place to shop- National Store- Local Store-

DFLet me be honest here... NEIMAN MARCUS all the way!  It's my one stop shop.
Sole of the South: What advice would you give to Atlanta men who are trying to dress fashionable?

DF: Less is more.... Don't over do it! Subtle details are sexy especially where accessories matter(ie. watch, attache case, and cuff links)

Sole of the South: you have a stylist who is it and why did you select him/her to
    be your stylist?

DFMy experience in the industry has given me the confidence needed to know what looks best for me and on me.

Sole of the South: What are your thoughts on the current fashion scene in Atlanta? How do you think it could get better?

DFIndividual expressions of creativity have been very prevalent amongst consumers in the Atlanta market.  We see a lot of trend-setters but, more followers.  Atlanta LOVES color and not affraid to wear it and try things in a new way.

Sole of the South: One thing you would never be caught dead in.

DFA skinny pant!  because I know my body type.

Sole of the South: What is your typical morning routine to get ready for the day? How long does it take you to get ready?

DF5:30am it is out the door for a 4.5 mile run three days a week. Then back home to have
oatmeal--feed the puppies and off to the shower.
After a nice shower, I shave.  Put on all my face creams and SPF'S... decide what
I'm wearing for the day. Then, I get myself STYLISH and head to work. Total time ---
    exactly ONE hour!!!!!!

Sole of the South: If you could bring back one trend from your childhood what would it be and why?
DF:VESTS!  It needs to be reintroduced in the market as a staple into a man's wardrobe for his POWER suit or his casual look.
Sole of the South: Hottest trend right now?

DFThe hot trends for Men this fall 2013 are: Color- Mixed Berry, Evening Jackets, The statement coat, Fine gauge turtle necks,
the scarf, evening shoe, color in cordurory pants, utility vests, suits, and motorcycle jackets.

Sole of the South: Favorite fashion event in Atlanta.
DF:Fashion's Night Out!  It's universal and it kicks off the season's hottest/newest trend looks

Sole of the South: Favorite person to follow on twitter.

    DF:N/A

Sole of the South: Favorite fashion magazine.

DF:Besides the BOOK at Neiman Marcus?  WWD is the directory for global fashion!

Sole of the South: Anything else you would like to add about yourself, your fashion, your thoughts, etc.

DF:I've always been intriqued by fashion,  It definitely impacts your confidence and influences your image.

Sole of the South: Fav quote.

DF:"GOD can dream a bigger dream for you than you can dream for yourself" and treat
people the exact way you want to be treated!

Sole of the South: Biggest fashion splurge?

DF:Fitness has become in intricial  part of my life not only do I like to be fit but I want
to look good in the process.  Therefore, my guility pleasures these days are anything
fashionable in fitness and health. (running shoes, watches, and clothes)
Sole of the South: One "dive" store you love to shop?
    DF: N/A

Sole of the South:  If you could be one celeb for a day, who would it by and why?

DF:I honesty try to be the biggest role model each day I step foot out my house..  but, IF I had to be a celebrity for a day it would be LL COOL J.  He is a family oriented
businessman with a keen eye for style and fashion.  Whether at an event with his wife
and family or TV appearance on any of his shows, he always looks sharp and debonair
with his own speciality added personal touch.  He always looks comfortable, stylish and
    effortless!

Try a Trend Tuesday: Out of Africa

We all have a wild side- let's not lie. Untamed, untouched and uninhabited, it's haute. Hence why Try a Trend Tuesday encourages you to engage with your inner (and outer if you're into that kind of thing) animal.

With this trio of tricks, go from doggin' it to being the top dog in just a few. It's time to bring back the Spice Girls Halloween costume from Middle School and party like it's 1999. Game. is. on.and so is animal prints.

1) Tie one on.
Accents can take a plane jane to Jane Fonda- pre- 1980s workout video days (and that was sexy). Tie one on- literally. A lepard scarf or sweater can add that extra punch- taking you from lame to fame in one simple step.
It's no joke.

This is.

 2) Black and white.
You can never go wrong with black and white. Perfect for the day-to-evening transition, black and white animal prints are a classic take on a contemporary trend.

So hot. And from Banana Republic, FYI.

So not. (And no, that is NOT me.)

3) Clutch on.
Grab on to something. If not your beaoux- then a animal print evening bag is the perfect pop for any outfit.

Jimmy Choo- i'll grab on to you, baby.

Dolls, what a week already! I'm hosting my first event for my new job tomorrow night at the Livingston. Wish me luck. Is it bad to drink on the job? Kidding- I would never. x0x0, JFK.

I even tried the trend on Saturday. Stellar success.

Ballin' on a Bag Budget

Yall know the song..."When I step on the scene- yall know me....I'm in Miami Biat...." Well guess what Dolls, Miami- (not the city) Circle has a new brick-and-mortar that is filling the cities niche for designer-on-a-dime.

Bella Bag is the the affluent eBay of the A, if you will. Made for those who indulge in ballin' on a budget, Bella Bag sells our dear and desired designer handbags- with a discount from 20 to 80 percent.

Being the hostess with the mostest- of course they invited all of our fav's to play along (because it's the right thing to do): Hermes, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Louis, Chanel- you name it, they got it.

No way.

Some new-some gently used, owner Cassandra Connors insists you browse with a beverage thus offering a glass of wine (or five) to short sharp the shock of saving so on your new sack.

Hey, if you can't make it- fake it. And no, I'm not just referring to designer consigner.

Visit Bella Bag at 650 Miami Circle.

What a weekend, Dolls. Let me just say I woke up Sunday Morning and found this in my wallet- so I guess we all had a good night (just ask Allison). Cheers to a week filled of events. x0x0 JFK.

Always love to find a business card the day after....esp. this one.
